Xbox 360 VS PS3

Just joined this forum and seriously scratching my head on how this post went from PS3 vs XBOX to cars and don't really feel like reading the 100 pages in between.
 
It's called a satirical derail to hopefully get people to understand how stupid it really is to argue which is better. And I concur!

I drove in my mate's S3 (Revo'd) this weekend. I had to nurse a semi all the way home. But yeah, in the GTi/ST range, I'd pay R6k more and get the A3 2.0T instead.

Dude what are you gonna do if you get a spin in a GTR? Now that is a car! My mate has one. 195km/h in a 60km/h zone.

The Datsun is an awesome car. Mate of mine in durbs ordered one last month. He also got himself the S3 about 2 weeks back (Not the same one I drove in). Doing 195km/h is nothing special for even the A3 ... doing it in a 60 zone will get you punched in the nose by me. Keep that shit to open road traveling and only where there's no traffic too.
 
i like the two consoles well i have to say that i like XBox better but that's my opinion it depends on what you want to play or do :D

Would you mind elaborating....? you sound reasonable and open minded and I'm actually just looking for honest advice about which one to get. I have a mid range gaming PC at the moment. It runs basically everything but I'm keen to just play some casual games now because as get older gaming time decreases and I just wana flop on the couch and play something.

I was leaning towards Xbox because its a)cheaper b)the games are cheaper but I kinda like PS3 for blu-ray God of War and Uncharted exclusives. Just the price is quite ridiculous.

Sometimes I think I should just buy an xbox controller and use it on my comp and save like R2k! :-D

Advice please.

P.S. no car metaphors unless you can explain it where my PC is the corsa 1.7TDI I drive. Would the Xbox then be a VW Polo and the PS3 a merc? LOL! kinda useless.! :-D

I own and prefer the PS3 to the Xbox 360. I mainly got it for UC2 and GoW3 and I must say I am not disappointed.

The pros for me are:

1) It has one of the best blue-ray players and it supports 3D so you don't have to fork out another 2k for one in the future
2) Online gaming is free so you don't have to pay R500 for a subscription like on the Xbox
3) I find that the PS3 gets better exclusives for it like: UC2, GoW3, InFamous...
4) It doesn't suffer from the RLOD like the 360 does, although the newer model is supposed to have stopped this.

You must decide on which will benefit you the most. Do you want to play with friends? If so then chose the most common console. Do you want to do online gaming? If so then the PS3's free service is the one for you. Just to play with by yourself and you don't care about HD this and 3D that then I would say the 360 is for you.

I have played on both and I must say that both are brilliant. I quite like the 360's controler more but that is the only qualm I have with the PS3.

Thanks so much for the reply. Seems like I might have to postpone my console buying as my iPod 120GB harddrive just died at its less than 2 years old. (only 1 year warranty)

Guy at the iStore just looked at me...and was like...Nothing we can do. Apple can look forward to a rather irate email. :-(

But thanks so much. When Im working in a years time this advice will come in handy. (tending towards PS3) :-D
 
Cobalt: I haven't seen much of a price difference between Xbox 360 and PS3 titles. I have also seen some reasonably priced 160Gb
PS3s out there recently. Irrespective of the parity in pricing, I still think that one should opt for the gaming system that has the
exclusives you want to play the most.
 
Xbox is better, it's simpler, more efficient, looks better. The controls are 10x more comfortable, and now it has a Kinect + it has Xbox live!
