Xbox One feautres play-during-download ability

still mad at the gamers who flipped out at the DRM for XB1. we lost so many cool features and should rather have fought against the small annoyances than against change... next thing people will ban the internet to protect our libraries!

Which cool features?

All those cool features were just theories, they never said anything as fact more as what they wanted in the future.

24 hour DRM is that cool?
Not being able to share games, is that cool?
Paying R800 for a new game and still can't be called the owner, cool?
Letting Microsoft define when and where you can play your Xbox, cool?
Shutting out indie-developers from the start, is that cool?

The main issue is that all those cool features came at the price of giving up your rights as a consumer. I don't see how losing ownership of my console and game library is cool.

my point was that, even in theory, a lot of the game sharing, family groups, etc were features with lots of potential. it had a very "Steam for console" vibe to it that i liked. but rather than engage us as gamers for how to change it for the better, they simply cut the whole thing and reverted to the old ways. not a lot of progress there.

yes, having a physical disc is handy for sharing games, but when last did you share a Steam game?

i am just sad and mad that proper solutions were not found. ultimately it boils down to create positive hype and their whole PR was terrible during the announcements.

It's a console it's supposed to be, put in the disk and play.

People flipped out at the lack of choice and the requirement of always online. I'm sorry but those a pretty valid things to complain about. Until MS proves their new way is better we should have a choice, not be forced to use it.
