Xbox One pricing is ludacris compared to the PS4

I like to wait and see how people argue about what is better. It's like watching hyenas or vultures in the wild fight over food, but in this case it's fighting over the title of who is better.

Really...this argument again. The Xbox has better software (debatable) and comes WITH Kinect 2.0
We all know that the PS4 will succeed because of the pricing but really...better?

I'm not really sure that "comes with kinect" is a selling point. :) It's just forcing a piece of tech onto people who would otherwise have no desire for it.

Over the past two weeks I've been seeing some legitimate use-cases that would make the Xbox One very compelling, thanks to off-site cloud rendering.

Ubisoft would have been able to do multiplayer matches in Assassin's Creed Black Flag if players were able to play on a server that does all the calculation for the ocean physics. Forza takes people's lap times in-game and generates AI that will, over time, become progressively better and better thanks to player experience. Video editing for your captured gameplay gets done on the servers. There are some good uses for the Azure cloud that powers Xbox Live and they were sadly not mentioned at the console announcement or at the E3 reveal - it all had to be done by the developers themselves, who had to explain things that Microsoft should have expanded on in the first place.

But unfortunately, using those things requires internet, a Gold subscription, and an extra $100 in the bank for a console that's weaker, ships with a controller that few people use on the 360 today, and requires game developers to fettle with their code to get their games to use the 32MB eDRAM to work around bandwidth issues that was designed into the console. This means that the PS4 will now be the target console and PC ports will be based on that, not the Xbox One thanks to a few extra layers of complexity.

Microsoft built the Xbox One on the point where you can game and watch tv,problem in South Africa is...How on earth are we going to watch tv through the console?
Microsoft has a partnership with US cable networks etc, in order for us to use the TV option,Microsoft will have to go into negotiations with SABC/DSTV/ETV. I haven't heard any dealings going on,so that makes the assumption that the whole TV thing won't actually work here.

this.

What I LOVE about my consoles is being able to lie in bed/sit on the couch while playing and moving as little muscle as possible. If I want to jump around etc. I'd go outside and play a real sport, which is what I do.

I would totally go for the PS4 over the Xbone as it currently stands, but I absolutely loathe the PS controller. I've felt more comfortable falling off a skateboard going downhill and tearing half the skin off my hip.

There is no easy way to say this but, as a former pro-Xbox advocate, I'm disappointed and I'm going to go PS4. It feels like I was not considered while developing the Xbox One. All decisions were made based on what somekids in the US would like. I know I'm not a star customer or anything, but as an Xbox customer who has purchased 3 Xboxes and almost 160 games, I feel shafted. I bought a second hand PS3 to get used to the controller layout for when I'm going to buy the PS4 and know I think I was a mansausage because I didn't get one sooner. 160 games later the joke, it seems, is on me.

I got lent a PS3 recently, and I have to say, I HATE PS3's remote and the layout of the menu's...GOD AWFUL....

With all the positives coming from M$ lately I might still stick to them....time will tell though...

Ifyou don't like the Ps3 controller you can always get a generic controller that works on both Xbox and Ps3 and they are not expensive.
I have both consoles and I prefer the Xbox controller cause I got used to it before I used the Ps3.
It's all about preference and opinion,I have no problem with the layout of the Ps3 menu,it's easy and simple.

As I said in other threads I am going Ps4 due to it's simplicity and gamer friendly system and not the sh!t MS was spewing, they can't be trusted.Like I said we all have our preferences and opinions.

Yeah definitely not a selling point for me. Some people are arguing well it will mean developers will be more keen to do something with it. I see it as MS mitigating the risk of it failing onto the consumer. Its not like they didn't sell a hell of a lot of version one (24 million units) I'm not saying it isnt going to do well or isn't cool, but I think they should prove it is before forcing you to buy it.

I never got the kinect 1, but I think I'm actually okay with it coming with XB1 this time, they've improved on a very interesting concept, even if it doesn't help gaming, I'm sure someone somewhere will create a very cool app to use it with, I do like the idea of voice-commands, and I think with the reduced latency it has in Kinect2.0 that I'll scream "foos roh dah" when ESVI comes out :P

I got the kinect 1, and it was ok. Used it a few times in the 1st month and never again. I honestly don't think its worth everyone buying it under the hope someone makes a cool app. If its so cool, everyone will buy it, but think an unproven product that costs so much should prove itself 1st before being forced to buy it.

Price is a huge factor just look at uk market where 360 dominated now ps4 is outselling xboxone 2 to 1.

I think content is more important. I was more that willing to spend more on a PS3 as the games offered were more attractive to me. PS4/Xbone, I'm still waiting for more games to be released before I officially decide but as it stands I'll be getting a PS4 probably around March when Infamous comes out :)

Necropost! Kill it with fire!

Please refrain from reviving posts that are older than 3 months. Thanks.

So if you want to talk about the same topic and there is a post that is older than 3 months must you create a new post rather? I've seen people get shot down for creating new threads that are the same as old posts. Is there an official rule around this?

Yeah, that's the rule. I read somewhere on the forum that "active for some time" is 3 months. I need sauce for that one.
Necro-posting

It is generally bad practice to revive a thread that has not been active for some time - the is known as "necro-posting".

If there is not a currently active thread about that particular topic, then there is no harm in creating a new one as a fresh start.

If you can add something to the conversation it shouldn't be a problem, especially if you acknowledge that it's an old topic, but if you look at that guy's post history, he's only been replying to old threads, and he really doesn't add anything new or interesting.

It's just painfully obvious judging by the user's posting pattern that they are spamming out replies to whichever topic they come across because there is an activity competition.

The sad thing is that there are loads of active topics to engage with to boost activity; instead 5 month dead threads are being resurrected with asinine comments.

Now this isn't to say that a user who feels they have something important to add to an old topic shouldn't do it, but in this case, based on the other recent activity of the user, it just looks like competition spam necroposting.
