XCom Enemy Unknown

So I've succumbed and prepurchased XCOM. Got the free copy of Civ 5 which is actually a pretty awesome game.

Ah cool, I've also received mine. I was expecting some sort of notice from Steam as I couldn't find the game, but I see now that it is Sid Meiers Civ 5
 
Hmm, I'm contemplating taking the Greenmangaming offer. It's about R50 cheaper and doesn't have the Civ5 bundled, but I've already got Civ5 so it's useless to me anyway.

Lol! I know the feeling. Considering Dishonored out the same day as this I decided to just bite the bullet and get it on friday night. I spent about £400 this weekend. So is fishpaste and cream crackers until friday.

This game looks so much fun.

I love the sci-fi shadow government setting. Classic aliens yay.
 
I'm honestly considering picking this up from Kalahari, since they're selling at R399 (free delivery).

I've never ordered from Kalahari before, so does anyone have any experience with them in terms of service and delivery times?

In the past they use to be very good and I ordered lots of stuff from them, but recently I have heard a lot of bad things. One of my colleagues really struggled to get the correct product out of them after they delivered completely the wrong thing and he then had to wait weeks if not months until he received the correct product...

My flatmate pre-ordered BF3, he got it on time, but he got a busted disc
 
Not to mention with the current truckers strike it'll probably take longer than usual to get here.

I think I'll drop the extra R30-odd and get it from Takealot then.
 
Just had the most EPIC XCOM session. Have 2 or 3 of my Soldiers up to Colonel. Lost 1 Rookie which is only the 4th Soldier I've lost during the entire playthrough. Only Canada has left the Council. And I just build my first 2 Acr throwers :D now once the next council report comes in and I have a bit more $$$ I can hopefully build an alien containment centre....
 
Had an epic battle and grouped up my soldiers since it was the only cover and the dam alien pulls out a grenade and kills 3 of my soldiers. I was like NOOOOO reload :D
