Your Gaming Audio Setup

I just worry that I wont hear it if someone tries to break in or causes crap outside because, you know, Im always keen for a fight:D

jokes, Im just paranoid

I do... I am actually sitting with one open and one ear in the phones, listening to music right now :)

Hey does anyone have this same quirk as me?
When wearing headphones one ear must always be free to also hear my real life surroundings.

Anyone?

I hear you bradbear... Strange but true. One is on my ear and the other is near my ear but not on. Eish.

I use these, and they work quite lekker for me.

Headphones above have an option to play the sound from the mic back at you so you can hear your own voice, and a little bit of what else is going on around you. Although I find it really only stops you from shouting because you can't hear how loud you're talking.

Though these days I play a bit of xbox in bed when the wife and baby fall asleep (I pay for that time when he wakes up in the middle of the night though), but I try keep the cups only half over my ears so I can hear if he wakes up.

Already blogged my new 5.1 speakers, but will post a picture later tonight.

Fetching it at the end of the month.

Duckknuckle STAHP you are turning me green, please.

I use Logitech Z2300's and a Teac HiFi with large old but good sansui speakers.

Would love some studio monitors though!!!!!!

Seems like a lot of people are rocking the x530's :)
Crazy how much the price of them has gone up so high, I paid R750 for mine, now I struggle to find them for anywhere near that price (walk in store)

Steelseries Siberia V2. Awesome sound quality, and the mic is decent. They do start to hurt after a few hours though, which sucks. Will try a different (more comfortable) set when finances allow it.

Got some crappy Creative 2.1 that I use most of the time, but when I want to immerse myself (or play online with friends) I use my Pulse headset:

Even though it is primarily a PS3 headset it works great on PC as well and I love the vibration.

I use: Corsair Vengeance 1500 7.1 USB. I Had a Logitec LS21 for Single player games and some music (they where good for R199) but gave them to my brother to use since he blows all his headphones.

Funny enough, the Genius Cavimanus, which costs ~R600, looks like this:

I still have the headphones as sometimes friends of mine want some jolly co operation but have no mic and then consequently borrow this.
