How much did that set you back?

I am considering getting the AMD 6970. Looks like a decent card. One thing though, my PSU is a Raidmax 730w. Now this is not a well-known brand, should I look at getting another PSU or can I stick with this one? it's a couple of months old and works fine at the moment.

Just don't want my upgraded PC without power. Anyone got some advice?

yeah exactly, that's why is said give it a try. you can only see when they're running in the configuration as to how much they use.

Firstly, the 6950 can be made into a 6970 with a bios change. Literally the same card.

As for power: look for efficiency ratings and the number of power rails it has.

Thanks. I'm eager to go for the 6950. The RaidMax 730w PSU seems to have an 85% efficiency rating and two 12 volt rails. Certified for SLI and Crossfire. The thing is that I picked it up for like R800. I am, in a way, suspicious of why it was so cheap. Considering similarly rated PSU's sell for a good few hundred more if I am correct.
