If money weren’t a problem, I’d fulfill my deepest tech-junkie desires with the luxuries on offer from Acer’s Predator gaming lineup.
Acer’s high-end Predator products come with some of the most remarkable technological innovations in the gaming space, which is why I like the product lineup so much.
Here are a few of the Acer Predator products with the coolest tech.
Laptop
The Helios 700 is a gaming laptop that lets you slide its keyboard and touchpad forward to reveal a beefy cooling system.
This cooling system makes the Helios 700 run at incredibly low temperatures by gaming laptop standards (with a maximum GPU temperature of only 56 degrees), enabling it to eke out every last drop of performance. This is why it is one of the fastest gaming laptops currently on the market.
Desktop
The Predator Orion 9000 is a perfect example of how Acer innovates with its Predator products.
The Orion 9000’s case was designed to improve convenience and add portability to a large form-factor PC build, which is why it has built-in carry handles and travel wheels.
Improved accessibility comes in the form of a hotswap drive bay that you can use to quickly switch out drives without having to go through the laborious process of disconnecting all the cables and opening the side panel to get to your PC’s innards.
If you must fiddle around with your PC’s internals, you can pop off the glass side panel – no screws required.
Finally, the Orion 9000 has one feature that is a godsend for those of us who can’t be bothered messing around in our BIOS to overclock our systems – A turbo button that does all the overclocking for you.
Statement piece
Acer’s Predator products include some top-of-the-line statement pieces for the seriously hardcore gamers out there.
The coolest of these is Acer’s Thronos Air. This gaming chair is the absolute complete package and straight from your wildest sci-fi dreams.
The Thronos includes a stabilizing arm, support for three 27-inch displays, motorized controls to recline at a 130-degree angle, a massage function, a built-in sound system, an actual cabin door, and a PC landing pad. You also get a PC included in the steep $13,999 (R21,5146.43) price tag. However, if money were no object, I simply couldn’t resist the Thronos as it feels like you’re entering an X-Wing’s cockpit when you sit down for a gaming session.
