ARK 2 to be developed using Unreal Engine 5

Studio Wildcard has announced that hat ARK 2 will be built using Unreal Engine 5.

This news shows ARK fans that the Studio is ready to utilize the next generation of Unreal and up its game with everything the new iteration of the engine offers.

The post came shortly after the recent State of Unreal livesteam presentation that announced the launch of Epic Games’ Unreal Engine 5.

ARK 2 has now joined The Witcher 4 and a new Tomb Raider game as games that have committed to using this new engine.

Unreal Engine 5 promises to bring these titles enhanced performance, upgraded UI, and more photorealistic graphics.

ARK 2 is an anticipated successor to the original dinosaur survival sandbox, and is expected to launch before the end of 2022.

Studio Wildcard teased the title at The Game Awards 2021 where it was showcased in a cinematic trailer featuring Vin Diesel as one of the main characters.
