Steam’s latest sale is now live, bringing an extensive list of deals to South African gamers.

Running until 15 June, the Steam Bullet Fest Sale is all about shooter games, with a notable focus on Bullet Hell style titles.

Many of these games are indie titles, which means they often have unique gameplay loops and oodles of charm.

These titles range from anime side scrollers to roguelites and engaging co-op experiences – and are all available on significant discounts.

Headlining the sale is Returnal – a singleplayer third-person shooter that focuses both on a strong story and chaotic, violent combat.

Debuting back in 2023 to acclaim, Returnal is now discounted by 67% – from R899 to R296.67.

Watch the Steam Bullet Fest trailer below, and read on for the best deals from this week-long sale.

Arms of God – R100.08 (Was R181.89)

Arms of God entered early access on 8 June, and is a roguelite Bullet Hell game that describes itself as inspired by Doom.

With the ability to wield up to five weapons at once, you can combine these weapons to optimise your build and “bring divine justice to a world on the brink of chaos.”

If you get this new early-access title during Bullet Fest week, you will enjoy a significant discount.

Gunfire Reborn – R103.95 (Was R189)

Gunfire Reborn is an online co-op game that features elements of FPSs, Roguelites, and RPGs.

Described as an “adventure level-based game,” players navigate procedurally-generated levels while picking up randomly-dropped weapons.

Every time you die, your restart will be a brand-new experience – complete with new heroes, weapons, items, and checkpoints.

Megabonk – R70 (Was R100)

Megabonk is a rouglelike survival game where the muscle-laden user character fights his way through various enemies and bosses in randomly generated maps.

Despite seemingly being a very indie-style game (its developer says the minimum processor is “potato” and the recommended processor is “potato 2”), Megabonk has racked up over 50,000 English reviews on Steam, with 94% of them being positive.

Brotato – R31.20 (Was R52)

Brotato is a simple, top-down arena shooter with roguelite elements.

As the name indicates, you play as a potato, which can somehow wield up to six weapons at any given time.

Your job is to fight off hordes of aliens, surviving until help arrives.
