We have already reported that EA has pushed back release dates for Dragon Age: Origins as well as the Sims 3. The same announcement revealed that The Godfather II is also being pushed back.
The sequel to the popular mafia simulator was originally due to be released at the end of this month. It has now been pushed back until the second half of 2009.
While some sources are suggesting that the title has been pushed back so that additional “polish” can be added, we suspect slightly less noble intentions.
If the delay is anything like the delays of Dragon Age: Origins and The Sims 3, then it is safe to assume that the decision has been made so that EA can market the game more before launch, therefore maximizing retail sales.
As annoying as the delay is, we can hardly blame EA for wanting to maximize the sales potential of the title following their recent $641million declared loss.
