Left 4 gets DLC

12 February 2009

Left 4 Dead was a generally well received first-person co-op focused zombie blaster. The biggest complaint the game received was that it was just too short.

Well those that enjoyed the title, but felt a little short changed by the lack of content can enjoy a brief smile, because Valve has announced a “Survival Pack. The downloadable content (DLC) will be coming to the Xbox 360 as well as PC versions.

The DLC will add new “Survival mode”, which will pit players up against endless waves of zombies on no less than 12 maps. It will also allow the “Dead Air” and “Death Toll” campaigns to be played in the competitive versus mode.

Although free DLC is always welcome, we can’t help but think “is that it”?

It really does not sound like much added content, and to be honest we were hoping for a bit more, considering that this is a full priced title and is noticeably lacking in depth and longevity.

At any rate, it is good to see that Valve is at least putting something into the game, and hopefully this will not be the last Left 4 Dead DLC package.
