Codemasters yesterday announced that Operation Flashpoint 2 will be released on the Xbox 360 and PS3 alongside the PC version. The game has also dropped the “2” from its title, and will from now on be referred to as Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising.
The original development team, Bohemia, has moved away from the Operation Flashpoint franchise to focus on the similar ArmA line of military simulators. Codemasters will now be developing the title internally.
The screen shots we have soon so far look simply amazing. The game will run on the EGO Engine, which was used in the popular racing title “Colin McRae: DiRT”.
The game is expected to drop in Q2 (April-June) 2009
