Killzone 2 Co-op rumours

9 April 2009

With the recent announcement regarding an update for Killzone 2, rumours have been flying around with various theories of what it will offer. Many gamers have speculated that there may be a possibility of a co-op patch being released for the game.

According to Game Trailers Spike TV’s promo video for this Thursday’s episode, “Killzone fans won’t want to miss a major announcement”. There have been plenty of online rumours circulating regarding the release of a map pack or a co-op mode addition.

The glimmer of hope that the addition will be a co-op feature is based on the fact that players are partnered up for most of the campaign. It would seem only natural then that an update would yield a co-op format as an extension of the campaign in multiplayer.

The first person shooter currently holds a review average of 92% on Metacritic and pre-orders of the game topped 1.1 million units in Europe alone prior to its release. Needless to say the title is incredibly popular and any update in terms of multiplayer functionality would be very well received.

Spike TV will also be debuting exclusive game footage from the upcoming sequel to Bioshock – Bioshock 2 – stating that viewers will get to “see the Big Sister in action”.
