July Release calendar

6 July 2009

With winter’s icy claws having taken a firm hold over the Southern Hemisphere it becomes easier by the day to make time for gaming. Not much beats drowning yourself in blankets on the couch with a new console title, or cranking the heater full blast as you huddle behind your PC monitor late into the night.

The past few months have been kind to gamers, but July is arguably looking like the barest month of 2009 so far. Traditionally a slow period, this year’s coldest month does at least have a few treats in store.

PC

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen – Out Now

Anno 1404 – Out Now

Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood – Out Now

Terminator Salvation – Out Now

Street Fighter IV – 10 July

Virtua Tennis 2009 – 10 July

FUEL – 10 July

Overlord 2 – 10 July

Superstars V8 Racing – 10 July

Diabolik: The Original Sin – 17 July

Jumpgate Evolution – TBA

PC gamers can rejoice as they will finally get the critically acclaimed Street Fighter IV as well as FUEL and Virtua Tennis 09. Anno 1404 has just been released, and should please those with a taste for civilization management while Overlord 2 may just be the game that scratches that destructive itch.

PS3

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen – Out Now

Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood – Out Now

Terminator Salvation – Out Now

FUEL – Out Now

Fight Night Round 4 – Out Now

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 – Out Now

Overlord 2 – 10 July

Ghostbusters -17 July

With a few decent titles being released in the last few days of June, along with Overlord 2 and Tiger Woods 10 to look forward to in a week from now, PS3 gamers should be able to find something worth playing over the coming weeks. PS3 owners will also get July’s biggest exclusive in the forum of Ghost Busters.

Xbox 360

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen – Out Now

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 – Out Now

Fight Night Round 4 – Out Now

Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood – Out Now

Star Ocean: The Last Hope – Out Now

FUEL – Out Now

Terminator Salvation – Out Now

Overlord 2 – 10 July

Looking very similar to the PS3 release list, with the one big exception being the lack of Ghost Busters, Xbox 360 gamers should not feel too hard done by with therecent release on Star Ocean: The Last hope exclusively for Microsoft’s console.

While it’s admittedly not the best month for new releases, July does have a few gems in store. Of course if nothing on this list appeals to you then there is always the option to catch up on missed titles from earlier in the year.
