Fans of Valve’s gripping zombie blaster will be pleased to learn that a new DLC pack is soon to be released, and it will add an entire new campaign to the game. Often criticized for feeling slightly short, Left 4 Dead is a game which many have stated is in dire need of a few DLC packs in order to bulk it up.
When Valve announced Left 4 Dead 2 a few months ago, many fans of the series complained, partly because they took the announcement as a sign that Valve would no longer be supporting the first game as it should.
“Crash Course” is expected to go live in September. Interestingly, the DLC will be available to Xbox 360 gamers for 560 MS points (R60), while PC gamers will get the content completely free of charge.
The DLC will include a number of new survival packs, as well as a new single and multiplayer campaign. Valve has stated that the download is intended to “bridge the gap between the ‘No Mercy’ and ‘Death Toll’ campaigns.
“The primary goal of ‘Crash’ is to deliver a complete Versus mode experience in just 30 minutes, resulting in a streamlined version of the game’s existing Versus campaigns,” a Valve representative has explained. “A recharge timer for infected teammates has also been added, and item spawn behavior has changed for more balanced gameplay.”
With the sequel planned for release in November, Left 4 Dead fans will be pleased to see that Valve is still interested in developing and building on the first game.
