The great thing about slow release months is that like all other months, they end. The end of August is something that many gamers will celebrate because as far as game releases go it was a pretty poor month. So there was Wolfenstein as well as a couple of surprise gems such as Shadow Complex and Trials HD for Xbox Live, but all in all there was not very much to get excited about.
September is looking to up the ante quite significantly, with enough big titles to make August’s drought feel like a distant memory.
The two must haves as far as MyGaming is concerned are Batman: Arkham Assylum and Aion.
The first is being billed as the best comic book based video game ever made, and from the gameplay trailers and previews that are doing the rounds it looks set to live up to this claim.
The second is a PC exclusive MMORPG which has been available in Korea and China as well as a few other regions for almost an entire year. It has been highly anticipated but the western MMO community and developer NCsoft is hoping it will secure second place after World of Warcraft in the MMO market.
For gamers not interested in these two titles there are a variety of other great looking games due for release in September such as Champions Online, Dirt 2, Need for Speed SHIFT, King of Fighter XIII and HALO 3 ODST.
A healthy dose of Platinum/Classic edition AAA titles being released will keep budget conscious gamers happy in September. These include Call of Duty 4 (PS3), Little Big Planet (PS3), Soul Calibur IV (PS3,Xbox 360) and Resistance 2 (PS3).
