EA has announced that FIFA 10 is now its fastest selling sports title of all time.
EA Sports President Peter Moore was understandably pleased with the result.
“We were confident that FIFA 10 would be a hit, and this week fans across Europe have shown just how much they love this game,” he said.
“We are incredibly proud of FIFA 10 and this kick-off for great, authentic football competition.”
In less than a week more than 10 million online sessions have been played with 155 000 players logged in simultaneously during peak hours.
Conclusive sales numbers are currently unavailable due to the fact that the game only launches in the USA later this month. When the game finally sees global release it will almost certainly be certified as one of 2009’s top sellers.
