Modern Warfare 2 will cater to the hardcore gamer

16 October 2009

Infinity Ward community manager Robert Bowling has revealed to ComputerandVideoGames that the current Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 closed beta is “just the tip of the iceberg” in terms of multiplayer content.

Bowling announced that there is “a lot more” to be unlocked within the multiplayer aspect of the game.

“There’s a lot more to come, whether it be customizable kill streaks, custom death streaks, equipment like tactical insertion, Semtex grenades – all that stuff.”

“What we’re offering with Modern Warfare 2 is a ridiculous amount of customisation. The lead-out is insane, you have all these attachments to choose from. It really caters to the hardcore gamer who wants to dive in deep,” he said.

South African gamers will be more than happy to hear this. Call of Duty Modern Warfare is by far the most popular online FPS locally. Judging from the anticipation behind Modern Warfare 2 it is likely that it will replace its predecessor in time.

Unfortunately, many gamers are unhappy to hear that Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 will be retailing for R499 locally on PC. This is considerably more than the average recently released premium PC title.
