Infinity Ward announces epic 25 killstreak superweapon in MW2

2 November 2009

One of the best things implemented in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, and again in Call of Duty 5: World at War, was the ability to unlock special abilities when stringing consecutive kills together. In Modern Warfare, these included a UAV radar system, an attack helicopter and an air strike. World at War adapted the formula, and introduced artillery and dogs.

Infinity Ward is taking it a step further in Modern Warfare 2 by implementing a brand new super weapon for players that get 25 consecutive kills; the tactical nuclear warhead.

The nuke, which we expect will very rarely be achieved, will kill everyone on the map, including the player who called it in.

While this is an exciting prospect for local console gamers, it may just rub salt in the wounds for PC gamers who discovered two weeks ago that it will not be possible to play Modern Warfare 2 online multiplayer locally.
