Cooler Master HAF Stacker family confirmed for SA

Cooler Master has announced a new entry into the HAF (High AirFlow) family that boasts a ruggedised design and comes in various shapes and forms, from mATX and full tower chassis to cube designs. Cooler Master seems to have decided that the HAF brand lacked a very well-known name in its stable and has revealed the new Stacker family.

Cooler Master South Africa has confirmed that the HAF Stacker will be coming to South Africa and the HAF 925, HAF 915F, HAF 915R, and the HAF 935 configurations will be available. No price has been announced for the chassis.

The family starts with the HAF 925, a mid-tower chassis capable of fitting in XL-ATX motherboards, quad-SLI or Crossfire setups, up to six 3.5-inch or 2.5-inch hard drives and three devices in the 5.25-inch drive bats. The HAF 925 can then bolt on to the HAF 915 R or the 915F, turning it into a full-tower.

This is done using a sliding rail mechanism patented by Cooler Master and ensures that once attached, the rigs are secure. Its possible to have a HAF 925 with two of the smaller chassis.

The HAF 915 is split up into the “F” and “R” classes, denoting where the PSU is located in the chassis; to the front or the rear. The HAF 915 units can accommodate an ITX motherboard, a single dual-slot graphics card, three 3.5-inch or 2.5-inch hard drives in addition to a 360mm water-cooling radiator on either side of the chassis. Its possible to stack multiple HAF 915 chassis on top of one another.

The combination makes this an interesting lineup. You may fill out the HAF 925 with all your hardware and use the HAF 915 as space for extra hard drives, more space for water-cooling or even as a second computer that can act as a server. The HAF Stacker family also has rubber grommets in the top and the bottom of the chassis.

So if you install a custom water-cooling loop, extending it into the HAF 915’s chassis whilst keeping things neat is easy. Push-pull configurations for dual 360mm radiators would also be easy because of the extra space and the open chassis design.

While not a new idea by any means, the new Stacker family actually does make some sense. Instead of buying another chassis to house more hardware, it may be possible to simply add in a HAF 915 to the array. In essence, not only is this Cooler Master’s way of giving enthusiasts some choice in the matter, it’s also their answer to the Corsair Obsidian 900D.
