There are two deciding factors for me. The Price and No Failure Warning.
These days no one can get away with a OS drive smaller than 256GB and R2000 – R3000 for that is purely insane. Sure it has a huge speed difference, but in my opinion it isn’t worth it when you can get 4-5TB for that price.
Secondly, its the fact that there is no discernible warnings that the drive is starting to fail. No clicking or anything that is a clear and decisive warning to back up now or lose everything.
If I am so desperately in need of a speed increase, I would rather look at a Hybrid drive. Much better bang for your buck, but not as quick as SSD though.
