Dice has launched an initiative to help combat netcode issues and bugs in Battlefield 4, and they need your help.
The Closed Test Environment (CTE) is a community programme where, for the moment, PC Premium members can access a version of the game built solely for testing purposes.
“The CTE will provide passionate fans the chance to evolve Battlefield 4 with us and become a part of the development process. We’ll be able to test new ideas and solutions to current issues before we roll them out to all Battlefield players,” said Dice on the Battlelog site.
The purpose of the CTE is for gamers to report any issues they experience while playing to Dice, who will then endeavour to fix the problem and improve the overall quality of the game.
“Among the first things we will work on is the “Netcode,” which is what the player experiences with the game world including player-to-player interactions like damage registration. This involves tweaking to the “tickrate” servers and networking in general,” said Dice.
Players interested in taking part can join via the Battelog site, although at the time of publication Dice had filled their quota of players.
Battlefield 4 has come under severe criticism from players for its bugs, rubber-banding on servers, and even more bugs. Dice has released updates and fixes for the game and upgraded their servers in recent months, but it appears Battlefield 4 is still far from perfect.
Any of you Battlefield 4 Premium members going to sign up for the CTE? Let us know in the comments and forum.

Wow you guys are negative… What other game company will relook at their product a year later to try and fix it? I mean think about it. They already got the money out of the consumer. Yet they are going out of their way to fix it. At their own cost. Yes it might be too little too late but its 100% more than what any other company would do. Just keep in mind that while this is happening they are also developing the next BF game… BTW BF4 is a great game. Just buggy and rushed. I haven’t played CTE but I am a premium member and I haven’t played a single game of BF3 since BF4 came out and i was premium there too…
