Games you can play this week - sunken mysteries and nostalgic throwbacks - Submerged

The first week of August brings some new game releases, including an interesting new adventure and a nostalgic throwback compilation.

Submerged – August 4th

(PS4, Xbox One, PC)

It’s becoming less rare these days, but it’s still not every day you come across a third-person game that doesn’t feature combat of any kind.

In Submerged, you play as a girl named Miku whose brother is gravely injured. Subsequently, you arrive in a flooded city by fishing boat, and your job is to explore the environment for supplies in order to save your brother.

As you play, you’ll gradually piece together the story of what happened to the city and the world you’re in. Sometimes a relaxing game like this is exactly what you need after a long day.

Check it out if you’re prefer your games to, on occasion, not require brutal murder of everything in sight.

Rare Replay – August 4th

(Xbox One)

Beloved developer Rare is celebrating its 30th-year anniversary with this collection of iconic Rare games.

The games include celebrated classics such as Perfect Dark, Conker’s Bad Fur Day, Battletoads and Banjo-Kazooie, but unfortunately does not include couch-multiplayer-classic 007 Goldeneye, primarily due to licensing issues.

As much as it sucks for Goldeneye not to be included, it’s still a fantastic collection.
