EA pleased with Medal of Honor sales performance

14 October 2010

EA took a lot of flak over the last few days, as review scores for their Medal of Honor reboot began to come in, and everyone and their dog weighed in with their opinion on the game. EA stocks even took a coincidental dip, but EA quickly attributed this to normal market fluctuations.

On the back of this, EA has decided to announce “great Medal of Honor day one sales” and that “the game is well in position for an outstanding holiday.” EA says that the game has “strong momentum and early internal indicators show that the game is off to a great commercial start.”

The title was co-developed by EA’s Danger Close Studio in Los Angeles (who handled the single player experience) and DICE in Stockholm (who handled the multiplayer). Medal of Honor launched in the US on 12 October, and now South Africa, and the EU region is preparing for the game’s launch.

EA has pointed out some choice critical acclaim, such as Zoo Magazine’s perfect 5 out of 5, Gamesmaster’s score of 85%, ComputerAndVideogames.com score of 85/100, and Eurogamer’s score of an 8 out of 10.

Medal of Honor is set to ship this Friday (15 October 2010) in South Africa, the UK and the rest of Europe, for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.
