VREAL could be Twitch’s biggest threat

12 May 2016

VR has taken off in a big way this year, with the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive currently having a staggered release across the world and Playstation VR set to follow a little later this year.

VREAL, a streaming service specifically designed to take advantage of VR devices, hopes to take advantage of this popularity.

While there is an immediate comparison to Twitch.tv, VREAL is notably different, as it will allow you not only watch a streamer, but also occupy the same place as them in-game.

If the streamer allows it, you will also be able to be seen and heard within the game world, allowing for an entirely new way for streamers to interact with viewers.

VREAL plans to have a beta some time in Winter, so if you have access to a VR device you can sign up here.
