System Shock reboot launches Kickstarter campaign with free demo

29 June 2016

The System Shock Remake has officially launched on Kickstarter.

This reboot, simply titled System Shock, is a complete remake of the genre-defining classic from 1994, rebuilt from the ground up with the Unity Engine.

It will feature the writing talents of Chris Avellone (Fallout: New Vegas,  Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II, Planescape: Torment, and Fallout 2) and is fully-endorsed by the original creators.

A pre-alpha demo was also launched alongside the Kickstarter that will allow anyone (not only backers) to get a better understanding of what this new team hopes to achieve.

At the time of writing, $300,733 of the proposed $900,000 goal had been pledged.

The game will release on PC, Mac and Xbox One, with other platforms possibly being announced in the future.
