The new Harry Potter is the most pre-ordered book of 2016

22 July 2016

For those of you old enough to remember the tremendous success of the Harry Potter novels, it should come as no surprise that the script for the upcoming Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is Amazon’s most pre-ordered book of 2016.

It’s not only the most pre-ordered book in the US, but also in the UK, and tops the list for print and Kindle editions, according to Amazon, reports Cnet.

“The book will be released on July 31, which according to previous books will be Harry Potter’s 36th birthday, and is also author J.K. Rowling’s 51st birthday.”

The script is still very much a work-in-progress, with this coming version of the book titled the “special rehearsal edition,”, based on the script being used in the two-part play now being performed in London.

So what is the story actually about? According to producer Sonia Friedman, it deals with Harry as a parent.

“The first thing Jo [Rowling] said to us was, ‘Harry the orphan,'” Friedman said.

“The starting point was: how does a 40-year-old man, who’s also an orphan and a wizard and one of the world’s greatest heroes, how does he do the most basic thing of being a dad when he’s had no parenting experience and actually had quite a lot of abuse?”

How… millions of people have been in the same boat and not had problems. This drivel will sell because it’s Harry Potter(TM) and kids and adults who enjoyed reading books about these school children and their antics will buy this as well.
