Resident Evil 5 Demo hits 4 million downloads

Initially released on December 5 exlusively to Xbox 360 owners in Japan, the demo was downloaded by just over half of the country’s Xbox Live Gold users.

The Demo then became available in North America and Europe to Xbox Live Gold users on January 26, where it was downloaded 1.8 million times in the first three days.

The Demo only then became available to Xbox Live Silver users on January 29.

The PS3 version of Resident Evil 5 became available on the Playstation Network on February 2, and the demo is now available to all connected users on both platforms.

Up until now the demo has been downloaded over 4 million times according to Producer Jun Takeuchi.

Resident Evil 5 is currently scheduled for a March 5 release in Japan, and will be available in North America and Europe on March 13. It is a console exclusive title, and will be available on the Xbox 360 and PS3.
