Late in 2008 Sega announced that Rebellion Developments was working on a new Alien Vs Predator game, confusingly entitled Alien Vs Predator.
Rebellion developed the 1999 original classic by the same name, and is currently hard at work on the new title which is scheduled for an early 2010 release on PC, Xbox 360 and PS3.
Like in the original, players will be able to complete three different campaigns, one for each species. The three different campaigns will intersect at different points, but will each have a unique story line and set of objectives.
Sega has not released details about the game, but the assumption is that the human marines will be armed with traditional weaponry associated with space marines such as guns, grenades, explosives, movement sensors etc.
Aliens on the other hand will most probably be able to run up walls and will rely on their claws, teeth and of course acidic blood to inflict damage.
The Predator, arguably the most powerful of the three, will most probably have access to futuristic technology and will be able to cloak itself, as well as use its harpoon and super strength to dispatch the outmatched human marines in a variety of entertaining ways.
One of the most celebrated aspects of the original was its multiplayer which allowed players to go up against each other using any of the three different species. Sega has confirmed that players will once again be able to go head to head as any of the three factions in multiplayer.
Not much else is known at this point, however Sega today released a very short but ultimately pointless teaser video, along with some impressive new screenshots. (Below)
