Cape Town’s biggest monthly LAN event will be taking place between 24-26 July this month. Featuring impressive sponsorships from Frontosa, MSI and Café Viva, July’s Organised Chaos (OC) is a 700-seat gaming event and will be run by the Organised Gaming Association (OGA).
Prominent clans such as UbS and miNt will be participating in various competitions held at the event.
Competitions and tournaments
The event will feature two sponsored tournaments; The Frontosa Call of Duty 4 Series and The Café Viva Defense of the Ancient Series (DOTA).
The Frontosa Call of Duty 4 Series will award R5,000 worth of prizes to the winning team at the July event. The winning team at the final event in December will receive a further R10,000 worth of prizes.
The Viva DOTA series will award R2,500 worth of prizes to the winning team at the July event. A further R7,500 worth of prizes will be awarded to the overall winner at the finals to be held in November.
The event will not only cater to PC gamers, but also has a substantial PS3 community and cash prizes will be awarded in Tekken as well Unreal Tournament 3 competitions. Details regarding the cash prizes will be revealed closer to the event.
Tickets for the event cost R120 if pre-booked before July 21. Pre-bookings end on July 21, but tickets will be available at the door for R140. Up to 75 reserved parking bays are also available for an additional R20 fee.
Neck-tie-July
The two attendees wearing the “funkiest or craziest” neck-ties will each win a 1 terrabyte harddrive.
MSI random prize giveaway
MSI will also be giving away hardware prizes to random attendees seated in the MSI rows. MSI has sponsored seats 321-560, and only attendees sitting in these seats will stand a chance to win MSI hardware.
Details
The event is hosted at the Bellville Velodrome in Cape Town and will run from Friday the 24th of July to Sunday the 26th of July.
Food and supplies
There will be a selection of different food stalls at the event as well as a hardware shop which will allow gamers to top up on important supplies such as keyboards, mouse pads and other essentials.
