Alan Wake PC version cancelled

15 July 2009

Rumors suggesting that the highly anticipated title Alan Wake will be released exclusively on Xbox 360 without a PC follow up have borne fruit as Remedy entertainment announced last night that the PC version of the game has been shelved indefinitely.

The developer has stopped all work on the PC version and in completely focused on the Xbox 360 version. This is not to say that a PC version will not come out eventually, it just means that it is currently off the table.

The ultimate decision lies with Microsoft Games, and it is likely that once the Xbox 360 version has been released a PC version will be announced.

A Remedy Games representative had this to say to Digitalspy “Remedy has a deep heritage in PC gaming and we would love to see a PC version available for our PC followers. Ultimately, however, this is a decision that lies with our publisher.”
