Blizzard: “We know that Diablo III isn’t perfect”

Love it, hate it, cover it in melted marshmallow and toffee and chocolate and cupcake crumbles and bits of biscuit and ice-cream and lick it off a spoon, Diablo III is probably going to be around a lot longer. Also, I think I might be ovulating.

In a lengthy post over on the Battle.net forums, Blizzard boss Mike Morhaime talks about the wobbly Diablo III launch, and everything the studio has done and continues to deliver an “awesome gaming experience” for everybody. It’s the usual PR stuff you’d expect, but it’s nice to see Mike (or his secretary, perhaps) making the effort.

“We are not satisfied with breaking launch records; we want people to continue playing and enjoying Blizzard games for a very long time,” he wrote. “The Diablo III team has made an epic, entertaining, and beautiful gaming experience. That being said, we know that it isn’t perfect. Our teams are working hard to improve the game balance, build on our design, and listen to what players are saying to make it the best game it can be.”

That includes listening to what players are saying about the always-on DRM, but they’re not going to change that, sorry. Honestly, though, I don’t really get what all the fuss about that is anyway. It’s easy enough to get around – just play something else instead.
