While July and August were decidedly quiet months for gamers, September certainly did pick things up.
Racing fans have been spoilt with the likes of Need for Speed: Shift as well as Dirt 2, while MMO addicts finally got Aion, the most exciting looking online role playing title in quite some time.
Of course there was also Batman: Arkham Asylum which ended up making it into the Guinness Book of World Records for being the best super hero game ever released.
October looks set to continue this momentum, with a few fairly exciting looking titles. The month’s most highly anticipated game looks to be Borderlands which has attracted a lot of attention with its humorous trailers, unique cell-shaded visuals and interesting FPS/RPG blend of exploration and co-op action.
Uncharted 2 is another massive game scheduled to release in October, with many early reviews indicating that it may end up being the most highly rated PS3 exclusive of 2009.
There is more though, with the likes of Brutal Legend, Teken 6, Risen, Fifa 10, Operation Flashpoint 2, Section 8, Tropico, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, King of Fighters XII, Brutal Legend and Forza 3 all set to drop before November.
