Details emerge on Epic Mickey for Wii

7 October 2009

Epic Mikey was announced a few days ago, and has garnered significant attention due to its unique concept and interesting artistic direction. The new Warren Spector title is based in a dark fantasy world where players step into the shoes of Mickey Mouse as he journeys through ‘The Forgotten World’ to save forgotten Disney characters.

The world consists of forgotten Disney characters, rides and cartoons, “broken machines” and “bitter personalities”.

Fittingly, a character which not many people will know, ‘Oswald the Rabbit’, runs the ‘Forgotten World’. Oswald the Rabbit was actually the first character developed by Disney, and was overshadowed by the mass popularity of Mickey Mouse.

Players will use the Wiimote in a manner which will represent how cartoonists draw and create characters. They will have access to paintbrushes, pencils, thinner and other artists tools.

Mickey will be able to break through walls using paint thinner, and fix bridges by painting in the gaps.
