Crysis 2 fan-made HD texture pack launched

11 October 2012

People who simply couldn’t bear to look at the absolutely disgraceful Crysis 2 graphics following its controversial assault (and betrayal) on PC gamers everywhere last year will be happy to know that some brave fan has managed to control his gag reflex long enough to create an HD texture pack that improves the game’s visuals over their original disgusting…ness.

I mean, you can actually see the paravolumetric occlusion flux capacitor buffering. Disgusting.

That’s assuming you’re still willing to give the game a chance. I mean, DX10? That’s going to be hard to forgive, Crytek.

In addition to enhanced textures, the 1.5 GB mod by MaLDoHD adds a graphics control panel to the game so you can change the values for things like anti-aliasing, shadow blur, and view distance until your PC overheats and crashes, which is what Crysis 2 was supposed to do when it launched last year, but didn’t.
