Modern Warfare 2
It is inevitable that as we come closer to the release of a major title, the news surrounding it picks up significantly. Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 has been no different.
The week began with Infinity Ward’s announcement that there will be no dedicated servers for Modern Warfare 2. Instead the game is set to rely on a P2P networking solution in which the option to simply drop into public games running on third party servers will be removed.
Despite this, local gaming service provider iGame told My Gaming this week that it would be contacting Infinity Ward with a view to finding a possible solution for this locally, pointing out that this system will make it impossible to play Modern Warfare 2 on low latency servers in SA.
Infinity Ward community manager Robert Bowling also gave comment this week regarding campaign length in Modern Warfare 2. He revealed that the development team has concentrated more on game experience rather than campaign length. For this reason it is unlikely that Modern Warfare 2’s campaign length will be longer than Modern Warfare’s, which clocked in at roughly 6 hours.

Xbox 360 to get Blu Ray
This week was also flooded with rumours that the Xbox 360 console was to get a Blu Ray drive.
After a review with Microsoft’s Steve Ballmer the rumour was debunked, although the possibility of a Blu Ray drive as an accessory still exists.
