Bioware has announced a Collector’s edition for its upcoming sci-fi RPG sequel Mass Effect 2.
The package, which will ship in a tin case, includes a “a 48-page hardcover ‘Art of Mass Effect 2’ book, Issue 1 of the Mass Effect Redemption comic book, and a bonus DVD with behind-the-scenes and making-of videos” as well as a copy of the game itself.
The Collector’s edition will also reportedly offer exclusive “in game weapons and armour” with other additional items to be included for pre order customers.
Although it has been confirmed that the Collector’s edition will be available in North America, Europe and Japan, no confirmation regarding local availability has yet been given. If it is indeed released to South African fans it is likely to be considerably more expensive than the standard retail package.
Mass Effect 2 will be released for PC and Xbox 360 in late January 2010.
