Next week Sega will be releasing a playable Bayonetta demo to PS3 and Xbox 360 owners via their respective download services.

The demo is scheduled for release on December 3 in Europe, which means that local gamers should get it around then.

The game will then launch locally in early January, with a local release date still to be confirmed.

Players take on the role of Bayonetta as she wields and assortment of weapons and magic based attacks to defeat various enemies. The game is set in a fictional European city, and is highly stylized.

Bayonetta has been met with outstanding reviews so far, earning a perfect score of 40/40 from Famitsu.
