Web Africa hosts free paintball day for gamers

Earlier this month local ISP Web Africa announced that it will be launching a free gaming service for its customers called WAGE. The service will allow all Web Africa users with a Web Africa ADSL account to use various Web Africa gaming services without eating up any bandwidth.

To celebrate the launch of the new service, Web Africa is hosting a free paintball event in Cape Town on December 12 from 9:30am until 19:00pm. The event will be completely free to attend but entries are limited to the first 60 gamers that sign up. More details will be provided after signing up. The day will also include a braai and drinks. Unfortunately, only gamers aged 18 or older may attend.

Web Africa’s new free gaming service has been made possible by their recent upgrade to a Tier 1 ISP. “Having our own network makes it possible to control speed and reliability, ensuring that response times are optimal for gaming.  Our focus is to ensure that gamers have a hassle-free experience, so we’ve joined forces with the best in the business to offer a top-quality service” said Web Africa.

Web Africa is working with the team at Organized Chaos and will host servers for Call of Duty 4: MW, Call of Duty 5: WaW, Counter Strike: Source and Team Fortress 2. The service will be available from December 10, and will require players to configure their multiplayer IP addresses in order to play without using bandwidth.
