The last three months have been particularly good for gamers, with the likes of Uncharted 2, Borderlands, Modern Warfare 2, Left 4 Dead 2, Forza 3, Dragon Age, Assassin’s Creed 2 and Demon’s Souls all making their way to retail, and into the hearts of gamers the world over.
The recent glut of games, however, has left December unusually dry in terms of releases. One could argue that most publishers aim to get their games out in good time before the Christmas season. The last remaining big name titles for 2009 – Assassin’s Creed 2 and Left 4 Dead 2 – are already in stores, leaving little for gamers to really look forward to in December.
Having said that, it’s not all bad. Avatar is looking rather intriguing, and The Saboteur has been turning heads since it won IGN’s “Best of E3” award in 2009. Apart from these however, the release calendar is looking quite dry, leaving many gamers to console themselves with the aforementioned glut of high quality releases over the past few months.
