Modern Warfare 2 glitch wreaking havoc online

3 December 2009

Reports have surfaced that Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2’s suicide bomber glitch, also known as the javelin glitch, has been negatively affecting the game’s multiplayer.

The glitch, which works with any launcher in the game and does not require ammunition, requires players to equip their weapon, hold down the grenade button and then choose to switch their weapon. The player then becomes a walking time bomb so to speak resulting in voluntary suicide explosion within a group of enemies and will also spontaneously combust when killed.

Naturally this can be rather perplexing for other players within the game. As a result Microsoft has come forward revealing that any player that uses the glitch will be suspended from Xbox Live.

Infinity Ward community manager Robert Bowling revealed that the developer is aware of the glitch and that it already has “the coder responsible for the javelin” writing a fix that will be included in the first title update.
