Treyarch hiring for Call of Duty

Call of Duty 5: World at War developer Treyarch has posted a job listing for a level designer on its website.

Description

Level Designer – Call of Duty

 Level Design teams are comprised of a Scripter and a Level Builder working closely together on one or more levels in the game – these teams take ownership of the design from concept to completion. We are looking for self-motivated designers with intense creative vision and fresh ideas for gameplay.

Responsibilities:

•    Brainstorm new gameplay ideas with level scripter, and craft levels that bring those ideas from concept to reality
•    Build realistic 3D levels using Radiant level editor – experience with other 3D applications a bonus
•    Detail & polish geometry (including lighting) based on photo reference, concept art, and design documents
•    Research subject matter for history and look of the level
•    Prioritize to meet deadlines – must also be proactive in communicating progress and seeking resolution to issues
Qualifications
•    Must have a strong passion for First-Person Shooters and be able to communicate critically likes and dislikes of other games”

Little is known about the next Call of Duty title, other than it will be developed by Treyarch. Rumours circulated earlier this year that the game would be set in Vietnam when Treyarch licensed a selection of music from the era.
