Bobby Kotick’s massive payload

27 April 2013

Being the CEO of one the most successful gaming companies in the world has its upside – about 64.9 million upsides.

That’s the amount of money Activision CEO Bobby Kotick took home with him in 2012 – a whopping $64.9 million – making him one of the top-earning CEO is in the USA, according to Reuters.

Kotick’s base salaray was doubled to $2 million in 2012, while the exec will earn a further $56 million in stock options.

The $56 million in stock awards will be paid over five years and is contingent upon meeting certain goals for company performance.

According to Reuters, this means he earned over three times the $21 million pay package received by Goldman Sach Group CEO Lloyd Blankfein, and 50% more than Walt Disney CEO Robert Iger’s $40.2 million.

Kotick has been a director and CEO of Activision since February 1991 In July 2008, he became CEO of Activision Blizzard  when Activision and Vivendi Games merged.

He’s also on Coca Cola’s board, which helps, I’m sure.
