Bioshock Infinite studio sees layoffs

6 September 2013

Bioshock Infinite developer Irrational Games has laid off eight employees from its Massachusetts-based development house.

“In an effort to streamline our processes I am sad to confirm that we let go a total of eight employees today,” a representative for Irrational Games said.

“Any studio’s greatest asset is the group of people that make up the whole, and as such it was extremely hard to make this decision and there is never a good time for this to happen. As co-workers and friends, we wish them the very best.”

It was also added that the cutting of staff would not affect the two-part Burial at Sea downloadable content “in any way”.

After the incredible success of Bioshock Infinite, it’s sad for such a creative and exciting team to be reshaped, and hopefully they’ll be snapped up by someone else soon.
