2,400 games for free – play them now

The Internet Archive is bringing back the memories in a big way, and is now offering close to 2,400 browser-based MS-DOS games for free.

The game collection follow the site’s recent release of 900 old-school arcade games which included Dig Dug, Galaga, Golden Axe, and a whole lot more.

Among the batch of DOS games are the likes of Commander Keen, Wasteland, the original Prince of Persia, and Wolfenstein 3D.

“Please be aware this browser-based emulation is still in beta – contact Jason Scott, Software Curator, if there are issues or questions,” states the site – so some patience may be required.

Best of all, there are no instructions for the games – so it’s a case of sink or swim for those of you who enjoy a challenge.
