US-based game developer Zombie Studios has shut down after 20 years of being in the business.
The studio produced the likes of Daylight and Blacklight: Retribution, and created the Spec Ops game.
The reason for the shutdown, according to reports and a farewell post on the company’s website, is that the owners are retiring.
Zombie Studios was founded in 1994 by Mark Long and Joanna Alexander, who both served as CEO of the developer. The studio developed over 30 titles, including Blacklight: Tango Down, the Saw games for Konami, and several Spec Ops games and expansions.
In terms of its more recent project, Blacklight: Retribution, new studio Builder Box Games has taken ownership of the title and continue with its development.
The farewell letter is posted below. (Those who battle with small print, click the image to enlarge it.)
