In Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, bosses are entirely optional

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided’s recent announcement has the gaming community hyped, and understandably so. Deus Ex: Human Revolution blew us away, and we loved every second of it. In fact, it only had one real fault; that boss fights were altogether poorly designed. Mankind Divided shouldn’t have that problem, primarily because you needn’t fight them in the first place.

According to a reply by game director, Jean-François Dugas, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided will allow the player to ghost through the entire game – or most of it we’re guessing – and that includes bosses. To what extent players can avoid bosses, what challenges the player will encounter instead, and the implications this has for the story are all unclear for the moment. It’s exciting to consider, though.

This is great news for those who prefer the quiet or stealthy approach. It also provides an alternative way to play for those who want more replayability. All-in-all, the implications are good. Here’s hoping that the bosses provide a worthwhile challenge for those of us who choose to face them.
