Metal Gear Solid remake ‘Shadow Moses’ has been cancelled

Unofficial MGS remake - Unreal Engine 4

We hate to say we told you say, but we told you so.

The Unreal Engine 4 remake of Metal Gear Solid, entitled ‘Shadow Moses’, has been cancelled. That’s according to a statement by the Shadow Moses team themselves.

Hi guys!

We have an important announcement to make today:

We have to cancel the Shadow Moses Project for reasons beyond our control.

We would like to thank everyone for the tremendous support we have received.

Shadow Moses team.”

Unfortunate as it is, we all saw it coming.

Konami was never going to give a bunch of interlopers permission to POTENTIALLY tarnish their brand. They’re perfectly capable of ruining their own brands themselves.

We would like to point out, however, that the Shadow Moses team tweeted that a big announcement would be made on March 14th.

Perhaps Konami have decided to tackle it themselves, and perhaps it’s for the better. Metal Gear Solid deserves a lot of love – something a team of a few inexperienced developers would struggle with.

We just hope that whatever it is, the Shadow Moses team is offered the opportunity to tackle it in some way.
