8 awesome shows you can watch on YouTube

YouTube has quickly become the go to source of entertainment for most internet users.

Whether that be cat videos or the latest game trailers we usually find ourselves browsing the video service at least once a day to catch up.

As the service has developed its also allowed for more long-form series to form, directly replacing what we traditionally watched at home on TV.

These are the “TV” shows you should be watching on YouTube:


Inhuman Condition

In a world where the supernatural is known but scorned, werewolves, “walkers” and beings with supernatural afflictions attempt to live normal lives in human society. Many are closeted. Few are accepted.

Neil’s Puppet Dreams

Neil’s Puppet Dreams is a web series created by The Jim Henson Company under its Henson Alternative Banner and aired on The Nerdist Channel. The series stars Neil Patrick Harris who helped to create the series.


Video Game High School

In a futuristic world where gaming is the top sport, a teenager attends a school which specializes in a curriculum of video games in each genre.


Future Girl

A roommate comedy with a sci-fi twist. It’s a show about hanging out with your best friends – if your best friends were a Viking warrior and a grad student from the future.


Red vs Blue

After the Halo event of 2552, there is a brief but violent period of civil war among the humans. Two armies on opposite sides of a canyon, the Reds and Blues, fight in the most worthless piece of real estate in the galaxy.


The Guild

The show revolves around the lives of online guild, The Knights of Good, who play countless hours of an unnamed MMORPG video game. The story focuses on Codex, the guild’s Priestess, who attempts to lead a normal life after one of her guild-mates, Warlock Zaboo, shows up on her doorstep.


SOS Save Our Skins

SOS: Save Our Skins is the tale of two hapless British geeks who wake up in New York City only to find that the entire human race has vanished. But as they explore the seemingly empty world before them, Ben and Stephen soon realize they’re not alone after all…


Carmilla

Small town girl Laura Hollis has just finally moved out to go to Silas University. When her missing roommate is replaced without explanation, Laura vows to find out what is happening on campus while she deals with her new roomy… a vampire.


H+: The Digital Series

H+: The Digital Series is a web series produced by Bryan Singer and created by John Cabrera and Cosimo De Tommaso. The series, which touches on the subject of transhumanism, premiered on August 8, 2012 on YouTube.
