This is how Chicken McNuggets are really made in South Africa

At this point the infamous pink slime that supposedly makes up McDonald’s Chicken McNuggets has practically passed into folklore.

While the infamous photo is more likely soft serve than chicken – Mechanically Seperated Chicken doesn’t look all that different.

The truth is at one point in time the Nuggets likely were made from mechanically separated chicken (MSP), a process which entails feeding all of the leftover bits of the chicken alongside the meat.

As of 2003 however, McDonalds has only used white meat rather than MSP in its products.
